教学目的和要求(Teaching aims and demands):
*使学生初步掌握be 动词一般疑问句的用法
*使学生学会使用be 动词的复数形式
*使学生区别名词的单、复数形式
*帮助学生较顺利地朗读本单元的文章

交际句型:
It's a beautiful day. The children are playing in the garden. They are very happy.
Where are you ? Look at him. I like this music.
There are many flowers in the garden.

交际词汇:onion, bean, potato,pea, tomato, carrot, skipping-rope ,hide-and-seek, garden

具体教学方式:
上课时,教师首先拿出花和树的图片让学生看,并问学生,what are these ?(指花)Are they beautiful ?然后,教师拿着树的图片问学生,What are these ?Are they big and tall ?What colour are these trees ?接着教师问学生,Where can you find flowers and trees ?教师期待着某个学生能说出“garden”这个词。如果学生回答不上来,教师引导学生,OK ,now please open your books on page 56. Where are the trees ? Can you find some flowers ?What 's this ?(教师边说边指着整个画面) 当学生能说出garden词后,教师说,Yes ,it's a garden . Have you got a garden ?(问几个学生)Who has got a garden ?如果有学生回答Yes,教师还可以继续问,Is your garden big or small? Are there many trees in the garden? Are there many flowers in the garden? 如果没有学生家有garden,教师可以问学生,Is there a garden in your school? Are there many trees in it ?Are there many flowers in it ?Look, this is Sam's house. And this is May's house. They have a big beautiful garden. There are many children in the garden. Let's see what the children are doing . Look here.(教师指荡秋千的孩子)What is she doing ?(She is swinging.)
接下来,教师指着两个爬架子的学生,What are these two boys doing ? They are climbing. What are they doing ? They are counting numbers. What are these two boys doing ?(指听音乐的孩子)Yes, they are listening to music. Look at this girl, what is she doing ? Oh, she is reading . Do you read books like this ?Oh, there are some beautiful animals here down below. What are they ? Do you know? This is a …… Yes, it's a duck. This is a rabbit. Do you like rabbits? I like rabbits, too. Ah, this is a tree. It's beautiful. What's this ?Is this an elephant? What colour is it ? I know this is a cat. Oh, look here. What are the two girls doing ? (They are giving a bath to Nicky.)Who is Nicky? Right. Nicky is the cat. What's this ? Yes,it's a pool.Is there anybody swimming?Good. Do you like this garden? Now I'll say it again. It's a beautiful day. The children are playing in the garden. They are very happy. 然后教师开始指图上的孩子并引导学生一起说,This girl is swinging. They are climbing. They are counting numbers. They are cutting.They are listening to music. They are giving a bath to Nicky.等。然后,听一遍第1部分的内容(录音带)。
在该教学活动进行完后,教师可以让学生看图片,认读单词,an onion, onions;a bean, beans; a potato, potatoes; a pea , peas; a tomato, tomatoes; a carrot ,carrots.
接着,教师可以安排说说唱唱——本单元第2部分的内容,安排朗读第3部分的内容。教师可以先鼓励学生一起读,碰到读得不对或不好的地方,教师再给予纠正。最后,听录音朗读,再两个人一组朗读,最后给每个人一张小贴画。朗读之后,直接做问答练习。
在学生说的时候,教师可以安排学生做相对静止的活动,如听录音的练习或涂颜色的练习。最后再安排练习第1题和第4题。

教学活动1 Act it !
本单元练习部分第1题是几段小对话,教师在学生练习听力的基础上可以让他们做表演活动。教师可以让学生自愿编组,自愿结合,自愿选对话,同时鼓励学生在理解对话的基础上加上一些自己想说的内容。然后,教师给他们一些时间在班级里练习一下,最后在班上进行表演。注意,教师要检查是否每个学生都有自己的partner,必要时教师可以帮助调配一下。

教学活动2 Colour it and show it
该活动涉及到本单元练习第3题。教师在学生涂颜色的基础上让全班学生互相观看谁涂颜色涂得好。具体操作方式与往常一样。先让大家上色,上完色后,让学生一组一组到前面来,拿着自己的书,每组里面选出1—3个最好的图(要看每组有多少人,通常以一半为宜)。教师给每个选出的学生一张贴画。

课后作业:
1)Read the passage on page 58 and listen to the tape of this unit.
朗读58页的小短文并听本单元的录音。
2) Design your own beautiful garden on a piece of paper.
在一张纸上设计一个自己喜欢的花园。
3) Make a clock with a piece of carton and bring it to next class.
自制一个能转动的钟,下次上课时带来。
